Police Arrest Five Suspects of the Misuse of Subsidized Bio-Solar Fuel in Padang

inp.polri.go.id – The West Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumbar) revealed the misuse of subsidized Bio-Solar fuel in the city of Padang. In this case, the police secured five perpetrators. Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the West Sumatra Police (Polda Sumbar), Commissioner Satake Bayu said the perpetrators bought subsidized fuel and transferred it into a jerry can for resale. The five perpetrators had the initials Y (60), E (50), RA (19), RJ (31) and R (23) who were arrested on Tuesday (7/6) at around 17.30 WIB. "The way they did it was by bought the fuel subsidized by the government in the form of bio-diesel fuel at the Bandarbuat gas station with a truck with a tank that has been modified and moved into jerry cans for resale," said Commissioner Satake in a statement, Thursday (09/06/22). He said that the perpetrators were arrested after the officers received the information from the public. The report stated that there was an abuse of Bio-Solar subsidized fuel in a warehouse located at the Koto Lalang truck terminal. Based on the results of the examination the financier of this operations is a person with the initials E. The police will develop this case further. From the four perpetrators, officers confiscated evidence of 35 jerry cans with a capacity of 33 liters containing Bio-Solar fuel. In addition, there are 16 jerry cans with a capacity of 35 liters containing Bio-Solar fuel as well as 54 empty jerry cans, and four plastic hoses with three cars. The five perpetrators are suspected of being under Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Natural Gas which is amended in Article 40 point 9 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation Juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment for six years and a maximum fine of Rp60 billion.
