inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Drug Criminal Investigation of Bekasi Sub-regional Police has uncovered a drug smuggling case with four suspects arrested. The four suspects are D (32), AF (22), TAW (32), and FA (29).

Bekasi Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi says police has seized a total of 4.5 kilogram of meth and 3.5 kilogram of weed from the four drug couriers.

Twedi explains that the arrest began when police officers were patrolling around Diponegoro street, South Tambun where they spotted two bikers with bags hanging on the motorbike dashboard.

After profiling the two suspects, police search the two and their belongings at Margahayu red lights, East Bekasi, Bekasi City.

“From the two suspects, police found four bags of meth weighing 4,223 grams,” says Twedi on Saturday (10/5/2024).

Previously, two weeks before the police has arrested AF alias Okem in Cibeber Village, North Cikarang with 3,550.15 grams of weed and 193 gram of meth secured by the police.

“If the drugs were accumulated into rupiah, these items are worth IDR 7 billion. From this arrest, we also estimated to save around 21,800 people from illicit drugs,” explains Twedi.

For their crimes, the suspects are charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) Sub Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. Article 114 paragraph (2) Sub Article 112 paragraph (2) and Article 111 paragraph (2).
