Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Investigators from the General Crimes Directorate of the West Java Regional Police have arrested a housewife following the confiscation of  dozens of illegal firearms, both long and short-barreled, along with thousands of rounds of ammunition, on Awiligar Street, Bandung, West Java. According to Senior Superintendent Jules Abraham Abast, the Head of Public Relations  Unit of the West Java Police, the housewife, identified as HSL received these firearms and ammunition from her husband, identified as PKL, since August 2023. These weapons were stored at her residence in Cilincing, North Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com. In March 2024, HSL transported firearms and ammunition in a car to a house on Awiligar Street, Bandung, West Java. The West Java Police investigators confiscated a total of 29 firearms, including 18 long-barreled weapons such as sniper rifles and assault rifles, and 11 short-barreled firearms including FN-type and revolver pistols, along with thousands of bullets and magazines. "HSL has been found to possess, transport, store, and conceal firearms, ammunition, and explosives received from her husband, PKL, since August 2023," said Chief Jules. The investigators probed the origin of these firearms, suspected to have been obtained illegally by HSL and PKL, possibly smuggled from abroad. HSL faces charges under Article 1 paragraph 1 of Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951, with a maximum penalty of death, life imprisonment, or a minimum of 20 years in prison. (mg/fa/pr/nm)
