inp.polri.go.id - West Jakarta. The Criminal Investigation Unit of West Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police uncovers online gambling practice in the websites of Berapi138 and Gacoan79. The sites were operated by a suspect with the initials of JH (28).

The Head of West Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police, Senior Superintendent Syahdudi says that the suspect was arrested in Jelambar Baru Street, Grogol Petamburan on Tuesday (10/8/2024). JH is said to be the owner and the operator of the online gambling sites.

“Suspect JH has been managing the two sites since May 2024,” says the police chief on Tuesday (10/8/2024).

Explained by the Syahdudi, in his time operating the two sites, he got a turnover of IDR 60 million per month and a net profit of IDR 30 million per month.

"This arrest is proof of the West Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police's commitment to eradicating online gambling practices that are disturbing the community," he said.

For his actions, JH was charged with Article 27 paragraph (2) of Law Number 19 of 2016 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (3) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions and/or Article 303 of the Criminal Code.
