Inp.polri.go.id - Tanah Datar. The Padang Panjang Sub-regional Police in West Sumatra have begun a trial reopening of Lembah Anai Road exclusively for motorcycles following the flash floods that severed the national route.

“Under our leadership’s direction, we are conducting a trial opening of Lembah Anai Road specifically for two-wheelers,” said Assistant Second Inspector Denny Irya Admajat, the Safety Head of Padang Panjang Police Traffic Unit  on Monday (8/12/2025), as quoted by antaranws.com.

The trial runs from 8 to 10 December 2025 in a morning and and afternoon sessions daily: The initial plan for three sessions was revised to two after coordination with Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) to accelerate road repairs linking West Sumatra with Riau, including the Padang–Bukittinggi corridor.

No decision has been made on reopening the road to four-wheeled vehicles, though they may be allowed from 13 December 2025 pending approval from HKI and theMinistry of  Public Works. Police urged caution as the road remains slippery due to recent heavy rain.
