inp.polri.go.id - South Sumatra. The South Sumatra Regional Police Health Unit, and the Bhayangkara Mohamad Hasan Hospital in Palembang, are strengthening public health measures by distributing 2,000 medical masks and gloves at several strategic locations in Palembang.

This measure is a preventative measure to provide respiratory protection to people who continue to engage in outdoor activities, including road users, vendors, public transportation drivers, and informal sector workers.

In addition to distributing protective equipment, police health workers are also educating the public on the importance of maintaining health and the proper use of masks amidst declining air quality.

Head of the Health Unit of the South Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Muhammad El Yandiko, emphasized that these preventive measures are part of the police's efforts to protect the public.

"Public health is a fundamental asset for development that must be safeguarded together. We are present at community activity points to ensure the public remains safe, protected, and educated on maintaining respiratory health," said Yandiko.

Echoing this sentiment, the Head of the Bhayangkara Mohamad Hasan Hospital Palembang, Dr. Budi Susanto, stated that 2,000 masks have been distributed to the public at several activity points.

His office also continues to give support to medical personnel on standby as part of its healthcare efforts for the urban community.

South Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Nandang Mu'min Wijaya, emphasized the South Sumatra Regional Police's commitment to continuing to provide services and protection to the public.

"We are committed to supporting public health protection efforts. We are not only present to maintain security and order, but also to provide humanitarian care through services needed by the community," said Nandang.
