inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Jayapura Sub-regional City Police deployed three units of AWC armored vehicles to extinguish a fire at the Old Military Command complex, Numbay Village, South Jayapura District. This fire has burned down a total of 22 houses.

Head of Operations, Police Assistant Superintendent Ferdinand E. Numbery said that his unit received a call regarding a fire at the Old Military Command dormitory. After receiving the information, officers immediately went to the scene and brought one AWC unit along with them to extinguish the fire.

"We also deployed AWC armored vehicles from the Mobile Brigade Corps," confirmed Ferdinand on Monday (10/6/2025).

In addition to the three AWCs, he said, three fire trucks belonging to the Jayapura City Government were also deployed, assisted by eight water supply vehicles.

"The cause of the fire is still being investigated and the estimated loss is IDR 3.5 billion," concluded Ferdinand.
