inp.polri.go.id - Riau Islands. The Riau Islands Regional Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate destroys the narcotics evidence as a concrete manifestation in combating drugs that are destroying the future generation of Indonesia nation's generation in the Riau Islands region.
On this occasion, the Drug Criminal Investigation Director, Senior Superintendent Anggoro Wicaksono, explained that the evidence destroyed came from 22 drug criminal cases from July to September 2025, with a total of 28 suspects successfully apprehended.
The total confiscated and destroyed evidence includes 9,482.09 grams of crystal/solid methamphetamine, 553.68 grams of ecstasy powder, and 1299 Ecstasy pills. A small portion of each drug is set aside for evidence in court and forensic laboratory examination in accordance with applicable regulations.
Overall, the amount of evidence whose circulation has been successfully prevented is estimated to have saved approximately 48,549 lives from the dangers of narcotics abuse.The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Zahwani Pandra Arsyad says that this activity demonstrates police relentless commitment to eradicating drug trafficking.
"This success cannot be separated from the support of various stakeholders and the active role of the community. Every piece of information, no matter how small, submitted by the community is always followed up by investigators from the Riau Islands Police Narcotics Directorate,” says Zahwani during a Press Conference in the Main Lobby of the Riau Islands Regional Police HQ on Wednesday (10/1/2025).
