inp.polri.go.id - Aceh. The North Aceh Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit Investigators are still developing the case of smuggling firearms into the Lhoksukon Class IIB Prison.

Police are now hunting for a man with the initials AD, suspected of being a firearms seller, as well as a woman with the initials R, the wife of AS, who acted as an intermediary for purchasing weapons.

The North Aceh Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, Senior Police Inspector Boestani, said that a revolver pistol confiscated from the prison will be sent to the Medan Forensic Laboratory for ballistics testing.

"This testing is important to ensure the authenticity, type, and origin of the firearm," he said, on Sunday (10/4/2025).

It is known that this case came to light after the police thwarted the escape plan of several inmates, including AS, on Sunday (9/21/2025).

Based on the results of the investigation, AS bought a revolver pistol for IDR 33 million from inside the prison through R. IDR 25 million was initially transferred to buy the weapon, but what AD gave was only an airsoft gun.

After a complaint, the transaction was continued with an additional IDR 8 million and the revolver finally entered the prison.

The firearm was hidden by the inmate with the initials SL in one of the prison blocks, waiting for the right time to be used in the escape with another inmate with the initials IKN.

The escape plan was scheduled for Monday morning (9/22/2025), but was successfully thwarted thanks to coordination between the police and prison wardens the day before.

Currently, the police are still intensively questioning the three main inmates, namely AS, SL, and IKN, to dismantle the weapons supply network. In addition to hunting AD and R, investigators are also investigating the possibility of the involvement of certain prison officers.

"Anyone involved, whether external or internal, will be prosecuted according to the law. We are continuing to hunt down the two individuals currently on the wanted list," he concluded.
