Inp.polri.go.id - Cirebon. The Cirebon CitySub-regional Police are addressing a viral social media incident involving alleged harassment of a Padang restaurant owner, aiming for a fair resolution.
Cirebon Police Chief Senior Superintentdentl Sumarni confirmed on Wednesday (30/10/2024) that they have coordinated with the Cirebon Padang Restaurant Association (PRMPC) to clarify the situation.
"We’ve spoken with PRMPC to ensure there was no intimidation," Sumarni said..
According to PRMPC, their members only met the restaurant owner to discuss their lower menu prices, which differ from other Padang restaurants in the area, rather than engaging in harassment.
PRMPC advisor Erlinus Tahar issued an apology, explaining that the meeting was intended to maintain price consistency among Padang restaurants in Cirebon, not to intimidate or criminalize.
The viral video, uploaded privately by a member, does not represent an official PRMPC stance. PRMPC expected the clarification will help the public understand their intention to support sustainable business practices for Padang restaurants in Cirebon.
