Inp.polri.go.id - Sumedang. The Sumedang Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit launched an inquiry on Thursday (16/4/2026) into reports of alleged sexual violence within the Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) community.
The investigation follows a public statement released by the university's Student Executive Board (BEM Kema), which implicated a professor in the misconduct. Authorities are currently gathering preliminary information and monitoring the situation while awaiting a formal police report from the affected parties to proceed with legal action.
"We are tracking the reports to determine the exact nature of the alleged incident," said Assistant Senior Inspector Tanwin Nopiansah, the Head of the Sumedang Police Criminal Investigation Unit, as cited by antaranews.com.
The University’s officials confirmed they are holding internal meetings and have committed to releasing a formal statement within 24 hours regarding the case. The university emphasized its dedication to enforcing strict disciplinary measures against any staff member, including senior faculty, found guilty of violating safety protocols.
