Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  North Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police are investigating a drug trafficking case involving over 5,000 ecstasy pills transported via train from Jakarta to Surabaya in East Java.

“We found 5,067 ecstasy pills on suspect MF at Pasar Turi Station in Surabaya,” said North Jakarta Police Head of Narcotics Superintendent Prasetyo Noegroho during a press briefing on Thursday (26/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com

The case unfolded after police arrested a suspect in North Jakarta, leading investigators to trace the origin of the drugs back to Surabaya. Officers coordinated with local authorities and apprehended MF at the station with the drugs in his bag.

One suspect remains at large and is now on the wanted list. Police are also investigating whether the pills were produced industrially or in a home-based operation. The pills appeared professionally made, suggesting use of machinery.

The drugs, priced at Rp 200,000–Rp 300,000 per tablet, were intended for distribution across Jakarta and nearby areas. The trafficking route used commercial rail freight services.
