Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Financial Services Authority (OJK)’s Indonesia Anti-Scam Center (IASC) reported total losses of Rp 3.2 trillion (approx. USD 200 million) from online scams as of J20 une  2025, based on 157,203 public complaints.

“This figure is two to three times higher than other countries. The situation is no longer just alarming—it’s critical,” said IASC Secretariat Head Hudiyanto during an OJK-hosted webinar in Jakarta on Thursday (26/6/2025), as reported by antaranews.com

Only Rp 315.5 billion has been frozen from 54,544 scam-related accounts, due to most victims reporting after 12 hours. Prompt reporting is key to blocking stolen funds, he said.

Online fraud, mainly fake transactions on e-commerce platforms, remains the most common cybercrime. Other threats include phishing, hacking, and APK-based malware.

To combat this, OJK is launching the National Fraud Portal, enhancing coordination with police, partnering with fintechs, and integrating with cekrekening.id. Indonesia also joined the Global Anti-Scam Alliance to strengthen cross-border cooperation.
