inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The Bandung Sub-regional City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit raided a house in the Buana Cicalengka Housing Complex, Bandung Regency, that was being used to store 784,500 pills of various types of illicit drugs.
The Head of the Bandung Sub-regional City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, Police Assistant Superintendent Made Putra Yudistira, stated that the discovery was the result of an expanded investigation into a drug trafficking network operating in Bandung Regency.
"From this disclosure, we have successfully arrested a suspect with the initials RJ, a native of Aceh. The suspect is suspected of using the house as a storage and distribution location for certain illegal drugs," Made said in Bandung on Thursday (7/30/2026).
Made explained that preliminary investigation results indicate the drugs were allegedly intended to be distributed to various regions through a hidden ordering system and using courier services to evade law enforcement surveillance.
He stated that the distribution of certain drugs without a permit is a crime that has the potential to have serious impacts on the community.
"The distribution of certain hard drugs without a permit is a very dangerous crime. Besides violating the law, misuse of these drugs can damage health, lead to dependency, and even trigger other crimes," Made said.
For his actions, the suspect is being charged under Article 435 in conjunction with Article 138 paragraph (2), subsidiary to Article 436 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 145 paragraph (1) of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health.
"The suspect faces a maximum prison sentence of 12 years or a maximum fine of IDR 5 billion," he said.
Made emphasized that his team will continue to strengthen efforts to eradicate narcotics and certain illegal hard drug distribution networks through ongoing enforcement.
"We will not give any room for perpetrators of illegal narcotics or hard drug distribution within the Bandung Police jurisdiction. Synergy between the police and the community is essential to eradicate the circulation of these dangerous goods at its roots," he said.
