Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra assured that the government’s Police Reform Committee and the Indonesian National Police (INP) Transformation Team will work hand in hand, not in competition.
“Don’t worry about overlap, they will support each other,” he told reporters on Friday (26/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
Minister Yusril explained that the Transformation Team, formed by INP Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, will focus on internal reforms within the police force. The Reform Committee, on the other hand, is a presidential initiative led by President Prabowo Subianto.
Minister Yusril welcomed the reform agenda, noting that the INP Law has not been revised for years, while public criticism of the police has grown.
“Many negative allegations against our police could be true, could also be false. That’s why reforms are necessary, and as a minister, I will follow the President’s directive,” he said.
The Police Reform Committee is expected to be finalized once President Prabowo returns from his overseas trip, with an announcement likely in mid-October. Among the potential members is former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD.
Meanwhile, the Transformation Team was formally established under INP’s Order No. 17 September 2025. The team consists of 52 senior and mid-level officers, chaired by INP Training and Education Institute Head Commissioner Chrishnanda Dwilaksana, with Deputy Chief of Police Commissioner. Dedi Prasetyo as adviser.
