inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of Central Java Regional Police has successfully uncovered the circulation of counterfeit fertilizer that had been circulating in Sragen Regency and the surrounding area.
One suspect, identified as TS (55), a resident of Bolong Village, Karanganyar Regency, was arrested. Thousands of sacks of counterfeit fertilizer were also confiscated as evidence.
The Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Arif Budiman, confirmed the case and stated that the suspect has been detained.
"We have detained the suspect. Details will be announced at a press conference," said Arif on Wednesday (7/9/2025).
The confiscated evidence included 1,115 sacks of Enviro NPK fertilizer, 380 sacks of Enviro NKCL fertilizer, 170 sacks of Enviro Phospat Super 36 fertilizer, 220 sacks of Spartan NPK fertilizer, 320 sacks of Spartan NKCL fertilizer, and 160 sacks of Spartan SP-36 fertilizer.
Suspect TS was charged under Article 62 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 paragraph (1) letters e and f of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. He is suspected of producing and/or trading goods that did not conform to the quality, composition, or information stated on the label.
Previously, this case drew public attention after a video went viral on social media showing the alleged distribution of counterfeit fertilizer in Gilirejo Baru Village, Miri District, Sragen Regency.
The approximately 45-second video was uploaded by the TikTok account @matajateng, showing a man holding a blue and white fertilizer that is said to be fake fertilizer labeled NPK.
