inp.polri.go.id - Jepara. Central Java Regional Police investigators revealed that at least 31 minors were victims of the crimes of a sexual predator with the initials "S" from Sendang Village, Kalinyamatan District, Jepara Regency.
"Previously we mentioned that there were 21 victims found on the suspect's cell phone, but the latest development is that there are 31 minors who have become victims of the sexual predator's crimes," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Dwi Subagio, quoted by Antaranews on Wednesday (4/30/2025).
According to him, the number of victims could still change if we look at the evidence obtained by the police from the suspect's house. The victims of the sexual predator came from East Java, Semarang, Lampung, and most of them from Jepara Regency.
In fact, the perpetrator admitted that there were also several documents that had been deleted so that the Central Java Regional Police will also use forensic laboratory tests to reopen the deleted data to determine the number of victims.
The victims of the sexual predator crimes are estimated to be between 12 and 17 years old. While the most recent victim was still in the 11th grade of high school.
Police say the victims were threatened and blackmailed by the perpetrator and forced to do what he wants.
"The perpetrator carried out his actions using Telegram and followed up with WhatsApp," he said.
Subagio added that the perpetrator's criminal actions had been going on since September 2024. The case was revealed when one of the victims' cellphones was damaged, which was then repaired at a cellphone repair shop by the victim's father.
After the cellphone was repaired and turned on, the victim's father found out that his daughter’s smartphone contained data on the sexual crime case and then reported it to the police.
For his actions, the perpetrator of the child sexual crime was charged with the Pornography Law which carries a sentence of up to 12 years in prison, as well as the Child Protection Law, and the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (ITE).
