inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The Jambi Regional Police have again succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle baby lobsters worth around IDR 20 billion (USD 1.5 million) in the eastern coastal waters of Jambi. In the operation, which was directly led Great Captain Guntur Saputro, the police managed to secure 36 Styrofoam boxes containing 135,000 sand fry in the hull of a small-engine wooden boat in the waters of the Kuala Betara River estuary, West Tanjung Jabung. The Tanjabbar Police Chief said the operation, which began early in the morning until noon, succeeded in arresting four men on a wooden boat that was sailing the fry to a holding vessel, a type of large-engine speed boat waiting on the outer edge of the sea off the east coast of Sumatra.   The four men are Abdul Samad, 50 years old, Musliyadi, 40 years old, Erwin Saputra, 27 years old and Yasmin, 41 years old. The four of them are residents of West Tanjung Jabung, who are suspected of being accomplices of the smugglers   "The success in disclosing the fries smuggling case started with a public report which informed that there was an indication that a Pompong ship (small engine wooden ship) was about to smuggle fries in the eastern coastal area of West Tanjab on Friday morning," he concluded.
