Aceh Regional Police Investigates Corruption Case for Procurement of Ducks Worth IDR 8.4 Billion

The Aceh Regional Police are investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of ducks at Southeast Aceh Regency Agriculture Office with a total budget of IDR 8.4 billion (USD 1 million). Head of PR of Aceh's Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Winardy said the duck procurement was sourced from the Southeast Aceh Regency Budget (APBK) for the 2019 Fiscal Year.   Increase the status of case handling to investigation after investigators find a number of evidences. However, investigators have not yet named a suspect in the case. At the investigation stage, Pol. Grand Commissioner Winardy said, investigators have questioned 19 peoples. They are from the Agriculture Office of Southeast Aceh Regency and implementers of procurement and supply of goods.   "The investigators at the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of Aceh's Regional Police have conducted case titles and increased the status of handling from investigation to the staged investigation. Investigators have also secured 54 documents for the procurement of the ducks. This includes clarification of the seven duck breeders to find out what the real price of the ducks," explained the Aceh Regional Police'S Head of PR.   In addition, investigators have asked the Aceh Provincial Financial and Development Supervisory Agency to conduct an investigative audit of the duck procurement. As a result, it was found that there were indications of state losses of more than IDR 3 billion.   "The examination of the parties involved in the investigation stage will begin next week until later the determination of the suspect. This process continues until the submission of case files, evidence, and suspects to the public prosecutor," he concluded.
