inp.polri.go.id - North Sumatra. The North Sumatra Regional Police successfully raided a boarding house for being a place of trading newborn babies.
The Director of General Criminal Investigation of the North Sumatra Regional Police official, Police Assistant Superintendent M Ikang Putra, explained that the raid was on Jamin Ginting street, Juhar Alley, Padang Bulan Village, Medan Baru District, Medan.
The police arrested eight suspects, seven of whom were women and a man separately with different roles.
"Yes, we have secured eight people in connection with the alleged crime of selling and/or trafficking children," said Ikang, as reported by the posmetromedan, Sunday (9/21/2025).
He revealed that of the eight people who have now been named as suspects, one of them is a man while the others are women.
"There are eight suspects in total. Seven are women and one is a man. Now all of them have been taken to the police HQ for further questioning," he explained.
In uncovering the case, the police also secured a baby who had just been born three days ago. The baby's mother was also secured and is now being treated at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Medan.
The 8 suspects are, BDS alias TBD (female), SRR (female), AD (female), SS (female), MS (female), PT (female), MM alias BL (female) and JES (male).
"The investigation is still ongoing to determine the role of each suspect," he explained.
