inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The West Java Regional Police are investigating the mass poisoning that affected 301 students in Cipongkor, West Bandung Regency, allegedly after consuming food from the Free Nutritional Meal (MBG) program.
The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan, said that as of Monday (9/22/2025) evening, the number of victims had reached 301 people, including students from various levels of education, from elementary school, Islamic junior high school, junior high school, to vocational high school.
"We urge the public to remain calm. Currently, the health team is focusing on treating the victims, while the police will help ensure the investigation into the cause of this alleged poisoning," said the Head of Public Relations, Tuesday (9/23/2025).
He said the victims received emergency treatment at a number of health facilities. In detail, 116 people are being treated at the Cipongkor Community Health Center, 13 at the Sirnagalih Village Midwifery Center, 27 at the Cililin Regional Hospital, 127 at the Cipongkor District Post, and 18 at the Anugrah Women's and Children's Hospital.
"We are still collecting data because victims keep coming. Medical treatment has been prepared at several points, including at community health centers, hospitals, and emergency posts," said Hendra.
He added that the police will work with related agencies to trace the source of the food suspected of causing mass poisoning.
Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the West Bandung Regency Health Office, Lia N. Sukandar, said that her office is preparing government and private health facilities to accommodate the victims.
"Currently, oxygen is most needed. We are handling oxygen needs from the Cililin Regional Hospital and coordinating with the Cikalong Wetan Regional Hospital for additional supplies," explained Acting Lia.
