inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. PDI-P politician Ferdinand Hutahaean expressed his appreciation for the firm action taken by the Head of the Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police (INP), Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, in regulating the use of sirens and strobes during escorts.

He believes this policy demonstrates that the Traffic Corps has listened to public criticism and is committed to improving its internal policies.

“The Traffic Corps’ policy of regulating and limiting the use of strobes and sirens to only priority vehicles is an internal corrective action. This demonstrates the Traffic Corps’ commitment to creating harmonious relations by improving regulations that are pro-people,” explained Ferdinand on Monday (10/13/2025).

He also assessed that this regulatory effort is a step taken by the Traffic Corps to prevent the misuse of emergency signal functions, which should only be used in priority situations.

“This is a form of commitment to prioritizing lives and humanitarian interests,” said Ferdinand.

Furthermore, Ferdinand called the regulation policy a form of "elegant comeback" by the INP Traffic Corps in fighting for justice on the roads by returning the meaning of priority only to entitled vehicle groups, including ambulances, fire engines, accident rescue vehicles, and funeral corteges.
