This is based on a recent survey by the Populi Center Survey Institute. The result is that 75% of respondents are satisfied with the National Police Chief Sigit.
The survey was carried out from 1 to 9 December 2021, spread across 34 provinces in Indonesia. The survey was conducted through telephone interviews with a sample of telephone owners. Respondents were randomly selected from the voting population. Namely, residents aged 17 years and over or already married from the Populi Center survey population database from 2013-2021 totalling 1,200.
The sampling technique was carried out using a simple random sampling method from the sampling frame owned by the Populi Center. The margin of error in this survey is ±2.83 percent with a 95% confidence level. One of the purposes of the survey is to evaluate the performance of other institutions.
The respondents were given questions on a scale of 1-10. A scale of 1 is very dissatisfied, and ten is very satisfied. As for the question, how satisfied or dissatisfied are you with the performance of the Indonesian National Police under the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit?. The result is 75% satisfied.
The performance of the Police under the leadership of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit, which is relatively high, said Populi Center researcher Nurul Fatin Afifah, in an online press conference, Monday (12/20/2021).
Nurul explained the high public trust in the performance of the National Police Chief because he was considered capable of handling several cases. In addition, there is a commitment to take action against members who violate the law.
"Why is public trust in General Sigit's performance high because he is considered capable of handling several cases under his leadership? There is also an interesting statement from him, namely that he will take firm action against his members who commit violations without compromise," he said.
The survey also presents the results of a survey of public trust in law enforcement agencies. Respondents were given questions on a scale of 1-10, with one strongly distrusting and ten firmly believing; how much do you believe or not believe in the following institutions?
As a result, the National Police received the highest score among the judiciary, 75%. Followed by the Supreme Court (MA) 73%, the Constitutional Court (MK) 72.4%, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) 71.5% and the Attorney General's Office 69.6%.
"There are five institutions categorized into judicial and law enforcement institutions, here the Police get the highest percentage," said Nurul.
