Inp.polri.go.id - Pacitan.  Several villages in Pacitan Regency, East Java, have recently faced prolonged power outages due to thefts targeting cables and transformers of the state-owned electricity company, PLN. Aditya Bimantara, the Manager of PLN in Pacitan, confirmed on Wednesday (13/3/2024) that the villages of Ngadirejan, Nglonggong, and Glinggingan were affected. Aditya said, "There was indeed theft of PLN cables and transformers. The missing cables totaled 140 meters." These incidents likely occurred during power outages over the past two days due to bad heavy rain, landslides and strong winds in the affected areas. He added that power had been restored to several villages in the affected districts. Aditya emphasized the importance of community cooperation in safeguarding PLN facilities and urged prompt reporting of any suspicious activity to village officials, local security personnel, or the PLN call center at 123.
