Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) aimed to maintain close collaboration with the Indonesian Military, the Indonesian National Police (INP), and the Attorney General's Office (AGO) throughout the 2024 Election, including the upcoming regional head elections 2024. Rahmat Bagja, the Chairman of Bawaslu, highlighted the significance of this cooperation in addressing the heightened risks associated with the 2024 regional elections compared to the presidential elections, owing to intense competition among regional candidates nationwide "The competition among regional candidates may lead to a surge in reported violations during the regional elections. This is what we anticipate in the months ahead," he said on Wednesday (13/3/2024). During a visit by participants of the School of Staff and Leadership of the 33rd Police Leadership Education Center (Lemdiklat Polri), Bagja noted that the level of ethnic, religious, racial, and hoax-based politicization on social media during the 2024 Elections appears less severe than during the 2019 Elections, as reported by antaranews.com. "While the situation seems under control presently, we expect protests about these matters approximately 15 days after polling day. We hope for continued peace," he added. Nonetheless, Bagja asserted their commitment to monitor vulnerabilities, particularly with regard to the 2024 regional elections. He also emphasized preparations for the announcement of the 2024 Election results, especially in addressing disputes in the Constitutional Court . "We are preparing our team to handle documentation, as reports from candidate teams are expected within three days after the announcement," he explained. The 2024 Elections encompass presidential and vice-presidential polls, House of Representatives members, Regional Representative Council members, provincial legislative council members, and district or city legislative council members, with a national permanent voter list totaling 204,807,222 voters.
