inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia's commitment to supporting independence and defending the rights of Palestinian citizens will never wane.
"I emphasize that the commitment of Indonesia will never wane. We will never stop defending the rights of the Palestinian people to be independent," said President Prabowo in his speech when opening the 19th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States (PUIC) at the Indonesian House of Representatives, Wednesday (5/14/2025) evening.
The President expressed his concern for the Palestinian citizens who have been victims of injustice for too long.
The Head of State asked the world or Islamic countries to move in a real way beyond mere discourse and statements, urging immediate actions.
"I ask you again to stop the discussion, stop drafting more resolutions. The Palestinian people have been victims for too long. The Palestinian people need real action," said the President.
In his speech, Prabowo also called on Islamic countries to set aside differences, overcome suspicions, and stop their rivalries for the sake of the people.
According to him, the parliamentary organization of Islamic countries such as the PUIC forum must be an effective forum to strengthen solidarity, voice justice, and present concrete solutions for Muslims throughout the world.
"This association was born from the awareness that Islamic countries need to unite in facing global challenges and defending the interests of Muslims wherever they are," the President noted.
The President also said that the Indonesian constitution explicitly mandates participation in maintaining world order based on freedom, eternal peace, and social justice.
