inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto is targeting 20 million recipients of the free nutritious meal program (MBG) before the 80th Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2025.

President Prabowo stated that he recently received a report that the MBG beneficiaries have so far reached 6.7 million.

"The plan is to reach 20 million beneficiaries by the end of August, but I asked them to see if we can speed things up. Turns out, they found that we can indeed speed things up," President Prabowo said on Thursday (7/24/2025).

Nevertheless, President Prabowo reminded his staff to maintain standards, including ensuring that kitchen administrators receive adequate training, and that kitchen administration and finance staff understand how to manage money.

"And that takes time," President Prabowo highlighted.

Despite this, he stated that his staff managing the MBG program are optimistic that the target of 20 million MBG recipients can be reached sooner, possibly before August 17, 2025, which coincides with the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
