inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Food Task Force has elevated the case to the investigation stage regarding alleged adulterated rice by several producers. This case upgrade was made after the Police Food Task Force conducted on-site inspections of rice circulating in the field and questioned witnesses.
"Based on the facts, there are allegations of a criminal act, so the case status has been raised to the investigation stage," explained the Head of INP Food Task Force, Brigadier General Helfi Assegaf.
He explained that this action began with a letter from the Minister of Agriculture to the INP Chief on June 26, 2025, conveying the results of an investigation into the quality and price of premium and medium rice categories circulating in the market. The investigation was conducted from June 6-23, 2025, in 10 provinces, with a total of 268 samples from 212 rice brands.
Several pieces of evidence were confiscated from the market, including Setra Ramos, Setra Ramos Super, Fortune, Sovia, Sania, Resik, Setra Wangi, and Setra Pulen Alfamart rice. The rice was produced by PT PIM, PT FS, and Toko SY.
"The results showed that 85.56% of premium rice was found to be below the regulatory standard, with 59.78% exceeding the HET (highest retail price) and 21.66% exceeding the standard weight of packaged rice," said the Head of the Food Task Force.
