inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid called Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's speech at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly as one of Indonesia's bold statements on the world stage.
In his speech, President Prabowo emphasized Indonesia's readiness to send 20,000 peacekeepers to Gaza and other conflict areas if the UN decides so.
"The President wants to show that Indonesia is not just talking about peace. We are ready to share that burden with our soldiers, even with financial support. This message is very strong: Indonesia will not stay silent," said Meutya on Wednesday (9/24/2025).
He added that this stance was born from the long experience of the Indonesian people who have experienced the bitterness of colonialism and injustice.
"Therefore, when the President said 'power cannot be truth, truth must be truth,' the world should hear it," said Meutya.
According to Meutya, the President's move also emphasized that developing countries like Indonesia can play an important role on the global stage.
"Indonesia is not waiting. We are offering solutions. We want to be a nation that provides hope, not only for Palestine, but for humanity," said the Minister of Communication and Digital.
He emphasized that President Prabowo's statement on Palestine also affirmed Indonesia's position in supporting a two-state solution, an independent Palestine alongside a secure Israel.
