inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. H. Joko Widodo started his visit to China by meeting Premier Li Keqiang at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Beijing, on Tuesday (26/7). Premier Li is the second most powerful person in China after President Xi Jinping.
Upon arrival, President Jokowi was greeted by Premier Li and immediately took a group photo. After that, Jokowi and Li and their respective delegates entered the meeting room.
In his introductory remarks, Jokowi said that China is Indonesia's strategic partner and the two countries have succeeded in filling the partnership with mutually beneficial cooperation.
Jokowi added that the value of trade between Indonesia and China continues to climb and has already exceeded US$100 billion (Rp1,499 trillion). President Jokowi hopes that this cooperation can continue to be improved.
During the meeting, the Chinese expressed their commitment to increase imports of CPO palm oil by 1 million tons from Indonesia. In addition, China also prioritizes imports of agricultural products from Indonesia.
Jokowi and Li also discussed cooperation in the development of the Green Industrial Park in North Kalimantan.
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said Jokowi's visit to Beijing was the first visit by a world leader after the Winter Olympics in Beijing in early 2022. "The main focus of the meeting of the two leaders is to increase mutually beneficial economic cooperation," said the Foreign Minister.
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, and Indonesian Ambassador to Beijing Djauhari Oratmangun accompanied Jokowi in the meeting with Li.
