Inp.polri.go.id - Magelang. French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday (29/5/2025) bestowed Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, France’s highest civilian and military distinction.

“The French Government confers the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour on President Prabowo Subianto,” he announced after a French official pinned the medal on Prabowo’s chest during a ceremony at the Indonesian Military Academy in Central Java, as reported by antara news.com.

The award ceremony followed a formal troop inspection and included the presentation of a red sash, a handshake, and photo session. The two leaders also toured the academy’s language lab and training facilities, and are scheduled to visit Borobudur Temple.

President Macron’s visit to Indonesia, part of a broader Indo-Pacific tour, is his first official trip since President Prabowo’s inauguration and will conclude in Singapore after earlier stops in Vietnam and Indonesia.
