Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. China has officially opened its market to frozen durian exports from Indonesia, the Indonesian Agricultural Quarantine Agency (Barantin) confirmed on Thursday (29/5/2025).

“This protocol’s ratification coincided with the visit of Chinese Premier Li Qiang to Indonesia, received by President Prabowo at the State Palace on May 25, 2025,” said Head of Barantin Sahat Manaor Panggabean in a statement, as quoted by antara news.com.

The agreement, signed by Barantin and China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC), assigns Indonesia’s quarantine agency full monitoring of plant health standards. All packing facilities must meet national quarantine installation requirements. Barantin will issue phytosanitary certificates to ensure traceability from registered farms to export-ready packaging.

Panggabean emphasized that the export protocol highlights a “traceability concept,” enabling authorities to monitor every step from farm cultivation to shipment. The process involves coordination between multiple agencies, including the agriculture, trade, and food ministries, as well as regional governments.
