Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has raised his concern over criminal activities carried out under the guise of civil society organizations, locally known as ormas, which he views as detrimental to Indonesia’s business climate.
“We truly share the concern—there should be no thuggery, especially when it is masked by certain organizations claiming to be social movements, but instead disrupting a conducive business environment. The President and the government are seriously troubled,” said State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace on Friday (9/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
In response, the government has formed a special task force to address unlawful ormas activities.
President Prabowo is also coordinating with the Attorney General ST Burhanuddin and the Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to guide and, when necessary, sanction such groups.
