Inp.polri.go.id - Ottawa. President Prabowo Subianto departed Ottawa on Wednesday night for Amsterdam to continue his state visit after concluding high-level meetings in Canada. His delegation left Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport at 9 pm local time, accompanied by Canadian and Indonesian diplomats.
President Prabowo held significant talks with Canada’s Governor General Mary Simon and Prime Minister Mark Carney, marking a new phase in bilateral relations, the Presidential Secretariat said in a statement released on Thursday (25/9/2025), as reported by antaranewsc.om.
The visit resulted in the signing of several agreements, including the Indonesia–Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA-CEPA), as well as defense, security, and business cooperation deals. Both leaders also discussed global issues such as Palestine, ASEAN, and the Indo-Pacific.
Prime Minister Carney underscored Indonesia’s role as a strategic partner in Southeast Asia, even citing Prabowo’s recent UN General Assembly speech as a source of inspiration.
