inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the first Pegadaian Gold Bank Service and Indonesian Sharia Bank in Indonesia, as a step to support downstreaming in Astacita initiated by the government.

“On this afternoon, February 26th, 2025, I, Prabowo Subianto, the President of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate the Pegadaian Gold Bank Service and Bank Syariah Indonesia," said President Prabowo as he is putting the dummy gold bar into the treasure box on Wednesday (2/26/2025).

He said that ahead of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, for the first time in history, Indonesia has a gold bank.

He hopes that the existence of the first Indonesian gold bank can have a positive impact on the Indonesian economy.

President Prabowo said that this Gold Bank will increase Indonesia's gross domestic product to IDR 245 trillion, open 1.8 million new jobs, and expand foreign exchange.

"Because from upstream to downstream, gold will be processed and stored domestically, and will not flow abroad," said President Prabowo.

The inauguration of the Gold Bank is a strategic step by President Prabowo in strengthening the national gold industry ecosystem, as well as supporting the downstream mission initiated in the Astacita of the Red and White Cabinet.
