inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, Inspector General Agus Suryo Nugroho, coordinating with Yogyakarta and Central Java Regional Police, prepares for Ketupat Operation ahead of Ramadan. As of now, they are finalizing the preparation for one-way traffic engineering.
"The Traffic Corps and the Ministry of Transportation have conducted a survey as we are sure there would be a surge in vehicle volume from year to year. We will definitely meet with other related stakeholders in this preparation on how to act during emergency situations and extreme weather conditions, and so on," said the Head of INP Traffic Corps, on Wednesday (2/26/2025).
On the other hand, Agus says that the prepared one-way traffic engineering was to break up the congestion during the homecoming flow. Agus is also open to the possibilities of expanding the one way system to the Semarang-Solo Toll Road.
In this coordination meeting, Agus said that the discussion was quite long regarding the opening of the Solo-Jogja Toll Road as they estimated that the flow of vehicles to Jogja will be high.
Not only on toll roads, arterial roads are also a concern. In the Ketupat Operation later, Integrated Posts will be prepared by each Sub-regional Police. Places of crowded centers such as shopping centers and tourist attractions are also a concern with the possibilities of high traffic.
In his closing statement Agus appealed to the public to only travel when they are in good health and also to make sure that their vehicles are in good condition.
