Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  President Prabowo Subianto met with CIA Director William J. Burns during his state visit to the United States on Tuesday (12/11/2024). 

The closed-door meeting took place at Wisma Indonesia in Washington, D.C., with Burns accompanied by Assistant Director for East Asia and Pacific Mission Center (EAPMC) Henry Kim and Jakarta Station Chief Carlos, according to antaranews.com.

President Prabowo was joined by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The visit to the U.S. follows an official invitation, with President Prabowo scheduled to meet with President Joe Biden.

On Monday, Prabowo also held discussions with leaders of The United States-Indonesia Society (USINDO) at the Dumbarton Room, Four Seasons Hotel, Washington, D.C. He engaged with executives from major American firms active in Indonesia, including Freeport, Chevron, General Electric, and Georgetown University.

Following the event, President Prabowo raised his expectation for the continued commitment of U.S. companies to Indonesia's economic development.
