Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to accelerate emergency response efforts following a deadly landslide in Majenang, Cilacap, Central Java, where dozens of residents remain missing.
BNPB deployed additional personnel, heavy machinery, and search dogs to speed up the search.
“The President expressed his condolences and ordered BNPB to move immediately to the field and help complete the landslide response in Majenang until the emergency phase is over,” said BNPB Deputy for Emergency Management Budi Irawan on Saturday (15/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
A total of 512 joint personnel from National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), BPBD, the military, police, and volunteer groups are now operating on-site. BNPB has increased heavy equipment to eight units and deployed K9 teams to scour the difficult terrain, which continues to be hit by light–moderate rain.
Basic needs for affected residents are being provided through public kitchens and health posts. According to the emergency post, 20 people were still reported missing as of Friday night, while nearby families have evacuated to safer locations.
