Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to ensure that every village across the country gains access to electricity within the next four to five years.
“With a target of four to five years ahead, every village, every area, and every household in the Republic must have sustainable electricity access,” said Energy Ministry Secretary-General Dadan Kusdiana on Sunday (24/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com..
As of mid-2025, 95.53 percent of the nation’s 86.59 million households already have electricity, leaving about 1.28 million households and more than 10,000 sites without supply. In total, 5,758 villages remain without power, mostly in eastern Indonesia.
The ministry outlined several strategies, including extending existing power grids, replacing outdated solar systems, and deploying small-scale local energy plants. For remote scattered settlements, individual solar power systems with batteries will be provided through state electricity company PT PLN.
