Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has ordered Indonesia’s top military leadership to review and replace outdated organizations within the Indonesian Military (TNI) as part of efforts to modernize its structure and align with rapid advances in science and technology.
“I instruct the TNI Commander and Chiefs of Staff to continuously study technological and scientific developments, and if necessary, replace obsolete organizations with more suitable ones—for the sake of the nation,” he said during his address at the 80th TNI anniversary ceremony at the National Monument (Monas) square on Sunday (5/10/2025).
The President also emphasized that leadership selection in the TNI should prioritize merit over seniority, stressing that only competent, professional leaders who exemplify integrity deserve command.
In his first TNI anniversary as president, President Prabowo reaffirmed TNI’s role as the nation’s primary defense backbone, urging continued self-discipline, training, and adaptation to new technologies, including artificial intelligence and cyber defense.
