Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto is seeking new revenue sources from the mineral and coal sector by increasing royalties on gold, nickel, coal, and other commodities, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said on Thursday (20/3/2025).
He revealed that the president discussed regulatory changes with him, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, as reported by antaranews.com.
Minister Bahlil said that the government is finalizing revisions to Government Regulation No. 15/2022, which will adjust royalties for both raw and processed minerals to support downstream processing. The increase, ranging from 1.5% to 3%, is designed to ensure fair contributions from the industry, particularly as commodity prices rise.
“This policy will apply to all businesses, including Freeport Indonesia,” he emphasized, highlighting the government’s commitment to maximizing state revenues while maintaining market balance.
