Preventing Covid-19 Spread, Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police Tightened Provincial Border

The daily cases of Covid-19 on Friday has reached 200 people, Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Inspector General Rikwanto, instructed the tightening of provincial borders to suppress community mobility. "Of course, driven by local government, we prevent the massive entry of Covid-19 into South Kalimantan, by restrictions and insulation. Results of PCR test also become travel requirement," Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police explained in Banjarmasin, Friday (07/09). Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police mentioned several regions, including two neighboring provinces that directly bordered with South Kalimantan, that is Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan, has implemented the same thing so the regions adjusted accordingly. "The point is we have to prevent Covid-19 spread with the strenght we have. We need to limit people's mobility, public activities and other activities are limited. Let’s not creat new clusters," Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police said. Then for the readiness of hospital beds, medical equipment, medicines, health workers and so on in the massive wave of pandemic attacks, Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police ordered all Chiefs of Resort Police to check their respective areas. "Besides readiness of health workers as the frontline who are assisted by Indonesia National Armed Forces-Indonesia National Police, of course community needs to maintain disclipline in following health protocols. The key is to prevent it. It is better to implement health procedures than exposed to the illness," Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police said. Based on data from South Kalimantan Health Agency, on Friday there were additional 200 people who have been confirmed Covid-19 positive, 125 people are being treated and 4 people died. There has been significant increasing in daily cases for last three days since Wednesday (7/7), with 111 people being confirmed positive and 4 died. Then Thursday (07/08) another 144 were infected and 4 people died. Meanwhile, number of recovery is always less than new patients who are sick or confirmed positive.
