Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo extended the Distance Learning (PJJ) and Work From Home (WFH) policies until1 February 2026, as Jakarta faces prolonged persistent rainfall.
The decision follows urgent warnings from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicting high-intensity storms that threaten to paralyze the capital’s transportation and safety networks.
"Based on BMKG forecasts, rainfall will likely remain high through early February, so I have decided to extend PJJ and WFH measures accordingly," Governor Pramono said Thursday (29/1/2028), as cited by antaranews.com.
To mitigate the crisis, the Jakarta administration is also intensifying Weather Modification Operations (OMC) to reduce precipitation levels over residential areas.
The Governor said that these advisories apply to both public and private sectors, including private schools and corporations, to minimize commuter risks. By reducing urban mobility through digital alternatives, the Jakarta administration expected to prevent fatal accidents and coordinate emergency response more effectively as the monsoon peak approaches.
