State-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Jakarta predicts the peak of Eid al-Fitr train departures at Gambir Station will occur on 28–29 March 2025, with occupancy rates reaching 97% while Pasar Senen Station is expected to see its highest passenger volume on 30 March 2025, surpassing normal capacity at 102%.

“The departures from Gambir have reached 100,281 sold, while Pasar Senen tickets total 247,114,” said Ixfan Hendriwintoko, the spokesperson of PT KAI Jakarta, as quoted by antaranews.com on Saturday (21/2/2025).

To accommodate the surge, PT KAI Jakarta  will operate 1,292 long-distance train trips between 21 March 21 and 8 April 2025, offering 701,605 seats—averaging 36,927 seats daily across 68 trains.

PT KAI Jakarta also encourages passengers to use the “Connecting Train” feature via the Access KAI app, allowing flexible route planning if tickets for preferred dates sell out.
