PT Pindad (Persero) President Director Sigit Puji Santosa confirmed on Monday, (18/5/2026) that the state-owned defense manufacturer is preparing a custom transparent presidential vehiclerequested directly by President Prabowo Subianto to allow him to safely greet and interact with crowds during official working visits across the country.

"Yes, we are continuously preparing it," he said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, though he declined to disclose specific technical details or a strict production timeline.

The request was publicly introduced by President Prabowo on Saturday during his speech at the launch of 1,061 Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperative (KDKMP) outlets in Nganjuk Regency, East Java, according to antaranews.com. 

Since his inauguration on 20 October 2024, President Prabowo has consistently utilized the custom-built "Maung Garuda" bulletproof SUV manufactured by PT Pindad. The domestic defense vehicle has also been deployed internationally, most notably being shipped directly to Cebu, Philippines, to serve as the President’s official state vehicle during the 48th ASEAN Summit.
