Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian and Saudi Arabian governments have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the development of critical minerals, such as nickel, bauxite, and manganese.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, and Saudi Arabian Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Badar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jakarta on Thursday (17/4/2025).
“This partnership will expand Saudi Arabia’s focus from oil to critical minerals such as nickel, bauxite, and manganese,” said Minister Bahlil after the signing, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The cooperation will involve both public and private sectors, with both governments setting up a dedicated team to outline technical details of the collaboration.
Saudi Arabia is particularly keen on strengthening mineral supply chains, improving trade relations, and sharing mining best practices with Indonesia.
