Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Saudi Arabia has canceled its plan to reduce Indonesia’s Hajj quota by up to 50%, the Indonesian Hajj Management Agency (BP Haji) confirmed on Wednesday (11/6/2025).
“They initially considered the cut as a warning, saying this year’s Hajj performance from Indonesia was not yet optimal,” said BP Haji Deputy Chief Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak during a press conference in Jakarta, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The quota reduction was reportedly discussed internally by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah as part of a performance evaluation.
However, following meetings between BP Haji Chief Mochammad Irfan Yusuf and Saudi authorities, the plan was officially dropped.
“They told us that Saudi Arabia still has strong trust in Indonesia, especially in President Prabowo,” Dahnil added, creditingthe cancellation to President Prabowo’s initiative to establish BP Haji, a specialized body aimed at professionalizing Hajj management.
