Inp.polri.go.id - Istanbul.   Turkiye will produce and export 48 KAAN fifth-generation fighter jets to Indonesia under a new defense agreement, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Wednesday (11/6/2025).

“I hope this agreement, which highlights the achievements of our national defense industry, will benefit both Turkiye and Indonesia,” he said via his official X account, as reported by antaranews.com.

He praised the Turkish Aerospace Industries and the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) for their role in the KAAN project, calling the deal a record-breaking export achievement.

President Erdogan also noted that Indonesian local capabilities would be involved in the production of the jets.

The KAAN fighter jet, developed by the Turkish Aerospace Industries, completed its maiden flight last year, reaching 230 knots at an altitude of 8,000 feet.
