inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Stella Christie, is promoting higher education collaboration between Indonesia and India through the Second India-Indonesia Track 1.5 Dialogue organized by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

The Deputy Minister emphasized that higher education and research are essential foundations for the nation's progress.

"We want Indonesia's young generation to not only study at leading universities but also to return with knowledge, networks, and a new vision for nation-building. Research and education must have a direct impact on society, whether through superior seeds, medicines, or renewable energy technology," explained Stella on Tuesday (9/16/2025).

She emphasized that this is the essence of the collaboration that the two countries want to promote with India so that it does not stop at discourse but becomes concrete results felt by the people.

Furthermore, Stella believes that relations between Indonesia and India can be strengthened not only through political and economic diplomacy, but also through intellectual networks and continuous academic collaboration.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, is launching various flagship programs, from the construction of the Garuda School to the Advanced Indonesia Scholarship.

"I hope that after today's meeting there will be concrete follow-up, such as pilot student exchange programs or collaborative research. Within the next year, we should be able to see concrete results. That way, people-to-people relations will not just be diplomatic jargon, but truly become a lasting life experience for our young generation, who will become future leaders," she explained.

Through the Second India-Indonesia Track 1.5 Dialogue, both Indonesia and India agreed to continue their commitment to expanding the scope of strategic cooperation, particularly in the sectors of education, research, and strengthening people-to-people ties.

This initiative is expected to be an important foundation in strengthening friendship while encouraging the contributions of both countries as emerging powers in the world.
