Security Official Assures Regional Security from KKB Threat: Papua Regional Police Chief

Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri says that the joint forces of Indonesian Military Force (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) assures regional security from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) threat on Tuesday (2/20/2024). “We assure that Papua is secured and safe from the threat of KKB,” said Papua Regional Police Chief. Mathius says that INP continuously held joint patrol in the region to ensure the security post-voting day and safeguard the ballots of the 2024 General Election. “Our activity was to create a peaceful and secure situation after voting day and during the vote recapitulation of 2024 General Election,” said the police chief. “We also guarantee the security of election logistic and people’s democracy, also recapitulation process by the General Election Commission. We also ensure that ballot boxes and ballots distribution from TPS to warehouse is safe,” said Mathius. Furthermore, Mathius also implores the people to not easily provoked by information without valid sources or hoax that currently circulate massively in the internet. “Regarding the results of the 2024 General Election, people are expected to await the official announcement from Papua General Election Commission,” implore Mathius. Addressing to the matters of civil airplane shooting in Milawak Airport on February 16th and February 17th, the Head of Damai Cartenz Ops Public Relations, Superintendent Bayu Suseno says that the task force is scouring the location to track and pursue the shooters. “We have involved the security officials, TNI-INP involved in Damai Cartenz Ops, to further strengthen our security by adding more perimeters around the airport in nine operational regions,” conclude Bayu.
